I always love to have multiple sessions with the same clients. In a way, I start to feel like an extended member of the family. To see how the children grow and develop from one session to the other, is a real privilege. I met Sara and Jon when William was six months. This cute […]
This family is so dear to my heart! Beautiful, Warm, Loving, Open and Real! I love to be able to have glimpses into the sacred circles of families. Spending time with my clients and being allowed to be a part of that circle, even if it is just for a glimpse, is a tremendous honor. […]
I really enjoy maternity photography. Expecting mothers have a natural beauty and glow. I also have a soft spot for autumn. To quote Albert Camus, an Algerian philosopher, “Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower”. When Leann suggested Berkeley Botanical garden as the location for her maternity session, I was really […]
“Biscuits en biltong, ek is ‘n weskus klong…” David Kramer sang these words to express his love of our beautiful West Coast. These words came to mind as I was looking at the love between the couple in my most recent maternity shoot. Sunita and Stephan seem so content with their current life stage and their […]
Carpe Diem… Seize the day. These are one of my favourite quotes and one I try to live by. As the sun was setting after a commercial maternity shoot, I simply could not pass on the opportunity to capture the love of a young family in the golden rays at the end of the day… […]
I have known Linde and her family since primary school. We grew up in the beautiful Boland town of Wellington. We’ve kept contact over the years as both our families always went on holiday in Langebaan. I was so excited for her when I learnt she was expecting. We met up with Linde and Daddy Francois during their “babymoon” on the West Coast. Just another spring afternoon, turned to magic in the light of the African sunset. Francois and Linde were beaming with love and made it easy to capture the beauty and intimacy of their pregnancy. I am thankful and fortunate that they allowed me into their family to capture these beautiful moments.
Taking pictures of my own or extended family is extra special to me. My cousin and her husband moved to Cupertino during the last year of our stay in the United States. How great to have family 20 minutes away when you live 17000km from home! They were blessed to with their first pregnancy and I loved sharing this special time with my cousin. On a summer afternoon, we arranged a shoot of the beautiful mother to be. Bayshore park has a great combination of yellow grass fields, walk-ways along tall trees and lush green lawns. Françoise’s bright blue dress and baby bump jumped out against these backgrounds and made this maternity shoot a real pleasure. (Baby girl Sive has been born in the meantime and I can’t wait to meet her and take some pretty pictures of her cute face!)
