Kat and Andrew, Wedding Day

Fresh, new love always brings a smile to my cheeks. I can’t help myself but think of songs like:

“I found a love for me
Darling just dive right in
And follow my lead
Well I found a girl beautiful and sweet
I never knew you were the someone waiting for me
‘Cause we were just kids when we fell in love…” ~Ed Sheeran

My most recent wedding was a wonderful example of such fresh, new love. We attended an intimate wedding among a small pocket of redwoods in Twin Pines Park in downtown Belmont, California. Our happy-go-lucky couple, Andrew and Kat, grew up in the Midwest. They met in the Bay Area and after building a friendship at church, one thing led to another… and here they are, exchanging vows.

The way they look at each other is so soft, gentle and endearing. Like they have found the love of their life. The way it should be! Andrew was extremely excited when he saw Kat walking down the aisle. Once they stood next to each other, in front of the guests seated on the grass, they kept on holding hands. After the short ceremony, they locked lips for a long and loving kiss.

Andrew and Kat were very relaxed. While they were getting dressed, there was a lot of fun and laughter among the bridal party. Kat had a bevy of girlfriends helping her to dress up. A few were volley ball friends from school and others were recent friends from her time in the Bay Area. The deep blue dresses of the girls was a good contrast to Kat’s white dress. Andrew’s best men were all from his college and they had a great time getting ready. Wearing suspenders, the guys looked very classy.

Bright yellow sunflowers is Kat’s favorite flower and they fit so well with her vibrant and joyful personality! After enjoying a great meal, the party got started. Kat and Andrew was the main attraction and took the lead on the dance floor. Everybody had loads of fun and there was line dancing and conga lines involved.

Andrew and Kat, thank you very much for making me a part of your story. I had a wonderful time taking capturing your wonderful day!
